Andy Sallabank
Andy Sallabank
The man with endless passion for the outdoors, a spare day and you will find Andy on a bike or walking in the hills. Deputy team leader of the local Mountain Rescue Team and advisor to Open Adventure on all things to do with ropes and mountains.
Anna Gracie
Anna Gracie
Between balancing George and looking after Nick she pulls together the race reports for the Open5 events.
Callum Nicol
Callum Nicol
The newest recruit, helps James with course design by throwing sweets on maps. Been known to baby sit James whilst Lisa is out on the raz with the girls.
Euan Thomson
Euan Thomson
Junior medic, and budding racer. Needs to hone navigational skills so that mum finds efficient routes to events.
Hilary Rounsley
Hilary Rounsley
Jim's other half, pretty good at navigating - notorious at getting addicted to collecting in controls when she should be in a car heading home. Just one more
Holly Nicol
Holly Nicol
Only 3, but already a veteran of putting controls out on the Open24, dragging Dad Nicol around the wilds of the western Lakes in the peeing rain, looking for finger posts.
Ian Nicol
Been to every Open Adventure event, bar one where he couldn't get out of the Lake District because of snow. Responsible for many of the crazy control locations in the Lakes, as well as being obscenely fit without doing any training what so ever.
James Kirby
James Kirby
The man behind the lense and this website. Ridiculous skills on a MTB, on a recent ride with James and Ian he announced that his wheels had not touched one cattle grate - he leapt over them all.
Jim Rounsley
Jim Rounsley
You will find this man in a trench coat with a red carnation as he defected from the east. In all seriousness we have known Jim and family for a few years now and have had the pleasure of racing with him. You can find the bearded fellow at the start on most races with a big grin and a large mug of tea.
Judith Hughes
Judith Hughes
The better half of Clive Ian Hughes, serial Adventure Racer. Judith knows all the people and the stats of who is winning. Whilst she is recovering from a knee op you will find her lurking at our events.
Kara Nicol
Kara Nicol
Spouse of Ian, and the one James and Lisa have to keep happy when we steal her husband. Again the lady with an eye for detail, sorting out prizes at events and commenting on map board designs, as well as drinking copious amounts of tea with Lisa.
Louise Allen
Louise Allen
Wife of famed John Allen, Louise not only arrives early to help at registration and also leaves late after clearing up but she also manages to bag a few controls as a racer. We are not worthy..
Mick Young
Mick Young
Mick is our newest recruit, to be found on the transition - dispatching wit to any vacant racer as well as encouraging his wife Carol who regularly races.
Megan Rounsley

Megan Rounsley
Megan might be small, but pity any racer that crosses her path (it might have something to do with both her parents being teachers). She's in charge of transition and the other volunteers know it.

Paul Stanbrook
Paul Stanbrook
Again only missed one event, migrated from the south to a life in the Lakes with his wife Rachel. Connections with Open Adventure now mean Paul is working for Sportident. In a previous life James and Paul worked together in the Balkans for an aid agency called Tearfund.
Paula Thomson
Paula Thomson
The medic who is a wannabe marshal, just can't help herself by getting stuck in. Yet hear of scratch or graze and she will dispatch her scottish wit and skill on any unsuspecting competitor.
Rachel Stanbrook
Rachel Stanbrook
Big smiles, loves running and mad about music. When not collecting in controls for Open Adventure or pushing maps through a laminator, Rachel is a freelance music teacher.
Sian Rounsley
Sian Rounsley
In charge of collecting funds for map boards and looking after Mum and Dad. During the race you will find Sian working as PA to Lisa typing in all the entries on the day.
